About me
Niko Ilias König was born into a family of artists in Vienna, 1986. His mother a violinist, his father a double bass player and his grandmother an ex-dancer and renowned dance teacher. It was his grandmother, Helene Caratzas, who first guided Niko into the dance world by giving him his first ballet class at the Vienna Conservatory (today's private university MUK). As well as studying at The Vienna Conservatory, Niko also simultaneously attended the Viennese Ballet Gymnasium.
His first employment came in 2003 when he was asked to perform with the Vienna State Opera. He later went on to work with Theater Vorpommern and soon after with; Landestheater Coburg, Landestheater Hof, Staatstheater Cottbus and Landestheater Flensburg as a soloist dancer.

During 2010-2016, he began to explore his own creative language when he choreographed multiple short dance pieces as part of the 'Young Choreographers's evenings', with Landestheater Coburg and Staatstheater Cottbus.
